Becoming Catholic
OCIA/Why Catholic?
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), is for adults wishing to be baptized and/or confirmed Catholic. You work with one of our two Deacons for the time that works best for you to meet. Participants can receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil if they are ready. Registration is required which can be done by contacting Deacon Mark Jansen at [email protected] or (262) 334-0140.

Baptism
If you would like to have your infant through age 17 child Baptized or you would like more information about Baptism, please contact Michelle Heeren, [email protected] or 262-334-3038
If you are an adult who would like to be baptized, you need to go through RCIA. Please contact Deacon Mark Jansen at [email protected] or at 262-334-0140.

Eucharist

Please note that if you wish to have your child receive First Reconciliation and First Eucharist at Holy Angels during the 2024-2025 school year, your presence at these meetings and retreats is required. Along with your presence at meetings and retreats, your child is required to be enrolled in a Catholic School, or a Catholic Religious Education program in order to be part of our Sacramental Program. Please let Lauren know if you have any questions!

Tuesday, February 18, 2025: First Communion Mass Selection Sign-Up Sent out at 9:00am
Saturday, March 1, 2025: 9:00 am-11:00am: First Communion Retreat, Walnut Room

Tuesday, April 22, 2025: 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm: First Communion Practice, Church
(Group 1: 6:00 pm, Group 2: 6:30 pm)
Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27, 2025: First Communion at all regular weekend Masses
Students who are older than 2nd grade who have not yet received these sacraments should contact the Associate Director of Faith Formation, Lauren DuCharme, at [email protected] or 262-334-9393 to begin the preparation process.

Students receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion in 2nd grade. The process begins in October with the reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and the sacrament of First Communion in April/May.

Confirmation prep kicks off in the spring of students' sophomore year with sessions beginning in September of their junior year. Confirmation is celebrated during the spring of their junior year.
