Faith Formation InternThe Intern at Holy Angels Catholic Church has many responsibilities. But what they don’t tell you in the nuts-and-bolts version is how much fun this job can be. The primary job of the intern is to assist in developing the life-long faith formation of the members of Holy Angels Parish from grades K5-11. While that may sound kind of dull, the whole thing isn’t talking about lectures and reciting Bible verses. During all the formation classes, which makes up a good chunk of what you’re being paid for, there will obviously be real work involved with prep and clean-up for the event as well as leading small groups and visiting/teaching classes. However, it’s fun too. The CORE Team is what we call our team of catechists that volunteer to educate our young members of this church. That is the group that you will become a part of with this job. They are a group of amazing people with great energy; it just seeps into your soul, and you can’t help but smile and laugh when you’re around them. You may be asked to give a talk or short anecdote to a group of teens. And though this may seem intimidating and nerve-racking, you have the chance to touch someone’s life with your story and show them that they’re not alone. That, my friend, is a powerful thing to think about. Other events that you will be helping with include lock-ins and bonfires, as well as Vacation Bible School along with any other fun events that happen around Holy Angels. All of them can be interpreted as fun that involves work. Overall, this job may not seem like a job sometimes. That’s how much fun it is. That’s also why you should consider applying; it could be the best job you’ve ever had.
