January 10, 24, 31
February 7, 14, 21, 28
March 7, 14, 21
April 11
There is a form below where you can list your interest in volunteering. By checking an item you are just stating interest in helping out, not committing. We will give you a call in the fall to talk to you about the area in which you are interested. Also, all fees for Catechists and Catechist's Aides are waived.
Option #2: At Home Program - for this option, you will receive the textbook that will be used for your child’s grade. It will be your responsibility to teach your child at home. We ask that your child attend the Grades K5-8 Retreat Day on February 7, 2021. When your child completes the book and takes the online eAssessments (no later than August 1, 2021) contact the Faith Formation Office to set up a meeting where your child will take a grade-appropriate test. If the child does not pass the test or the book work is incomplete, then the At Home program will no longer be an option for your family in the future. Currently all At-Home students are participating in virtual learning through Sunday, December 13. Please contact Hannah for more details.
The K5 At-Home Program does not require your child to take any online assessments.

UPDATE as of 1/20/2021: As you know, we are conducting our year in a virtual format; this will continue through the remainder of this school year. The lone exception to that is our "Retreat Days" that we are scheduling during the month of March. Please use the link below to signup for your chosen date and time, including the virtual option.

2020-2021 Updated Schedule:
(last updated 11/12/2020)
Large Group Session material:
Session materials (assignments, videos, other links) will appear in Google Classroom on or around these dates:
November 13
November 30
December 14
January 18
February 8
March 1
March 22
Due dates for each assignment will be attached to the assignment itself within Google Classroom; typically students will have a couple of weeks to finish an assignment, after which point we will discuss it at the scheduled Google Meet.
Check-in's (via Google Meet - invites to be sent out the week of the meeting)
These will last roughly 20-30 minutes; they will be scheduled between 9:00am and 11:30am on these Saturday mornings:
December 5
December 19
January 9
February 6
February 27
March 27
April 10
The following is from a communication sent out via email on September 10; this is an overview of what to expect for the year:
While this year in Faith Formation will be unique in structure and approach, our main goals are: 1) to get to know who Jesus is and build up our individual relationships with Him; 2) to learn about our Catholic faith, what makes it unique and how we can live it out in today’s world; and 3) to foster community while building each other up. To help us do that, we will use a varied approach in instruction methods:
By using Google Classroom, our learning and interactions will take place in a largely asynchronous format. This means that, aside from any small group check in dates and times, there will not be any other specific dates or times to adhere to. Your teen can access the “large group” lesson within their Classroom whenever it is convenient for them to do so. Each Assignment within their Classroom will have instructions along with a due date for any required responses. More detailed instructions, the Classroom link that I mentioned earlier, and a tutorial on how to access this information will be forthcoming via email.
One other thing I would like to mention here is service hours. In the past, we have asked for teens to participate in service projects both here at the parish and out in the community. Obviously with the ongoing pandemic, most of those opportunities are either non-existent or very restricted. Our hope is that things improve later on in the year and we are able to get back into some of those events and opportunities. In the meantime, we will continue to encourage service in a safe manner and publish opportunities as we become aware of them. In short, don’t worry about logging hours at this point.

- Google Classroom: each small group will be enrolled in their own “Classroom” as a way to interact with each other, along with myself and our other adult leaders.
- Google Meet: chances are you have attended one or several of these sessions in the last few months; this is the tool we will use to have our typical “small group” time with myself or another adult leader facilitating discussion. These sessions will be roughly 20-30 minutes in length, with the dates and times on the schedule above.

Grade 11 - Confirmation
Confirmation prep kicks off in the spring of students' sophomore year with sessions beginning in September of their junior year. Confirmation is celebrated during the Easter Season of their junior year. For more information on preparing for Confirmation, please contact the Associate Director of Faith Formation, Brian Mase, at maseb@hawb.org or 262-343-2370. Please visit our Confirmation page to download forms for the current year.
Service Hours
All high school students - track service hours here: http://bit.ly/30GQJRK
Service has always been part of the culture here at Holy Angels, and our youth have always been a shining example of that culture, both locally and around the country with Mission Trips. To that end, we are adding a service component for our 9th and 10th graders in Faith Formation.
Currently, our 11th graders perform 40 hours of service during their Confirmation prep year. Going forward, those 40 hours will be increased to 45 hours and spread out among 9th-11th grades, averaging out to 15 hours of service per year for our incoming 9th graders. This will allow us to extend service opportunities to all of our high school students and to continue living out our culture of service.
To start this process, and to keep some continuity from previous years, the number of hours each student will be responsible for are as follows:
When we learn of service opportunities here at Holy Angels, we will advertise them via Flocknote along with information on how to sign up for that particular event. We would also encourage you to seek out opportunities beyond our parish as well; each student will be responsible for completing service hours at Holy Angels AND in the community outside the parish. Hours you have served earlier this summer will count toward your total; simply track them with the above link.
If you have any questions, please contact Brian at maseb@hawb.org or 262-343-2370. We want to thank you in advance for volunteering your time and continuing the culture of service that thrives here at Holy Angels!
