"... Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."
-- Matthew 25:41 Welcome to the new website for Catholic Youth Mission Trips, a collaborative program among the West Bend and Newburg area parishes to send high school students on a week-long summer mission trip. Through these trips, students will grow in faith, develop new friendships, actively live out the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, and have a lot of fun along the way! Now is the time to start thinking about how you can use the gifts and talents you've been given to serve God's people this summer. Are you up for the challenge? |

Mission Trip FAQ's
Who can go on a Catholic Youth Mission Trip?
Students in 9th through 12th grade can go on a Catholic Youth Mission Trip during the following summer. Adults 23 years or older are also needed to chaperone the trips.
When are the trips? Can I select my trip?
Catholic Youth Mission Trips run from early June through late July. Students are assigned their trip. In December, all trip participants (youth and adult) will submit dates they are not available to go on a trip. The Catholic Youth Mission Trips Core Team then takes this information and places people on trips trying to ensure an even mix of grades, genders, and parishes. All participants will be informed of their trip and date by the end of January.
Where will I go on my trip?
Exact trip locations are still being determined but are located within a day or day and a half of driving.
What will I do while on my trip?
Every trip will have 4-5 days of service. What type of service you do varies among trips. Some trips are construction based and you will be helping a family work on a part of their house. Other trips are urban based, so you may help with a soup kitchen, community garden, re-store, or nursing home. On some trips you will stay at the same location each day for your service, while other trips you will be at a different location each day doing a variety of services.
What are the sleeping arrangements on the trips?
Accommodations range from gym floors to old convents. Males and females will be separated. The locations are not five star hotels, but are livable and help enhance the trip experience.
Who leads the trips?
Our trips are led by a great team of volunteer adults. Each trip has a leader who has been placed on that specific trip because of the different assets he/she brings. Also on the trips are other adults who help the trip leader in providing a safe, faith-filled, and fun experience.
What is the cost of Catholic Youth Mission Trips?
The Catholic Youth Mission Trips Core Team ask that each student contribute $100 of their own money towards the trip. The family is then asked to contribute an additional $200. This can be done through a sponsorship letter campaign to family or friends or from other sources. This total of $300 is all we ask of the students. The average cost of a trip is around $900 per student. Throughout the year each parish will be holding fundraisers to help fund the rest of the money needed for the trips. Your Youth Minister will provide you with the specifics of each fundraiser after you register for the program.
