Q: WHAT IS EUCHARISTIC ADORATION?
A: When we come to pray and visit before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, it is called "adoration". At every Catholic Mass, a beautiful miracle takes place. Ordinary bread and wine become the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus! We receive this Body of Christ at communion time, and afterwards, the consecrated hosts that were not consumed are placed in the tabernacle. At some parishes, the consecrated host is taken outside of the tabernacle and placed in a special golden holder called a "monstrance". At Mary Queen of Angels chapel, you will see our Lord in the monstrance as you enter for adoration. He will remain in our chapel for 24 hours each day, beginning Monday morning after the 7:00 am mass and ending at 7:30 am Saturday morning.

Q: WHAT WOULD I DO AT ADORATION?
A: The most important thing to realize is that you don't have to do anything, just "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). Apart from being still or silent you could:

Q: WHY WOULD I GO TO ADORATION?
A: In this busy world in which we live, Eucharistic Adoration gives you a place and time (outside of Mass) to be with our Lord. It can be a time to receive great peace and trust in our Lord, and a place where the Lord can strengthen your belief in His Real Presence in the Eucharist. It can be a time to read and focus on the Scriptures, to more clearly hear the Word of God. It is the place to spend precious time with our LORD! Q: HOW LONG WOULD I STAY AT ADORATION?
A: It is scriptural that you spend one hour ("Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?" Matthew 26:40), but you may adore for more or less time. Even a few short moments in silence with the Lord is a precious treasure, for it is in this silence that the Lord speaks to us. |
Q: WHERE IS ADORATION LOCATED?
A: The Mary Queen of Angels Chapel is located in the northwest corner of Holy Angels Church, to the right of the main altar (the crying room on weekends). You may enter the church through any of the doors during daytime hours. Please note that for security reasons, the church doors will be locked between dusk and dawn. After hours you will need to enter the church at the carport entrance on the south side of the church. You will need to ring the doorbell (found to the left of the main carport doors) to gain entrance. Someone in the chapel will come to let you in. If you are entering the church from the carport side and have difficulty navigating stairs, you may walk across the main altar and use the door on the north side of the altar to gain access to the chapel.
