Parish Council Minutes:
of April 17th Meeting, the Council discussed details for a
new vendor contract for our parish bulletin. Joseph Heit reported on the
many opportunities for Christian Faith Formation at our parish,
including ideas for the future. The Council reviewed developments at
the school, such as dress code changes for next year, ITBS testing
results, and results of the School Board election. We also shared
updates on the Human Concerns Committee, the Quad Parish Seniors
activities, Building and Grounds projects, and the Archdiocesan Faith in
Our Future Campaign. Watch for biographies from those open to serve on
your Parish Council. Please prayerfully reflect on your choices for the
Election, to be held the weekend of May 17th-18th.
You are invited to attend the next Parish Council meeting, May 15th
at 7:30 pm in the lower level of the Parish Rectory. |
This weekend the following students will receive their First Communion. Please keep these children and their parents in your prayers as they receive the graces of the Sacrament.

Adam Beck Priest Meeting – Fr. Jerry and Fr. Rick will attend the annual Spring Assembly for Priests (lovingly called the Priest Pajama Party) Mon, May 5th - Wed evening. That means they will not be available for ordinary parish activity. Note! No AM Masses on Tues and Wed. The secretary will be able to reach them for funeral arrangements and other emergencies. Deacon Mark will be in charge, and he can probably do all that needs to be done with one hand (he had surgery to repair a torn tendon in his thumb). Be good while we are gone! Church Busy Next Week – Mon, May 12, we have Confirmation here for Holy Angels, St. Mary, & Holy Trinity. On Tues evening we have practice for 1st communions at 6:30. Wed we have the practice for the Confirmation for St. Peter, St. Lawrence, and Resurrection. On Thursday we host the Confirmation for those 3 parishes. On Friday evening there is a wedding at 5:30. So the church, including the hall below, will not be available in the evenings for any other activities, including funerals or the rosary for that week. Mother’s Day Geranium Sale: West Bend Chapter of “Friends for Life” is sponsoring its’ 20th annual Mother’s Day Geranium Sale. Money raised will be used for education on life issues and other pro-life efforts. Human Concerns Committee will sell geraniums after each Mass, Sat and Sun, May 10th & 11th Cost $3.50. Rehearsal for 1st Communion students: If you are scheduled to receive 1st Communion on May 10th or 11th then your rehearsal is on Wed, May 7th at 6:30pm in the church basement. 1st Communion candidate and at least one parent should be in attendance. 2008 Festival of Angels is coming June 6, 7 & 8!!! Don’t forget to turn in your tickets today, Sunday May, 4th to be eligible for the $50 Early Bird Prize! Festival tickets are arranged by street address or out-of-town. If you know of someone that cannot pick up their tickets, please help us out by taking them with you. Need more tickets or did not receive a packet of tickets? Extras are available in the 8th Ave church vestibule. PLEASE fill out the volunteer form found with your tickets and return it to the box in the church vestibule or go on-line to the parish website www.hawb.org. We need many people in the food stand area, dinner, raffle ticket return booth, silent auction and pull-tabs. Please consider giving a couple hours to help out. New Parishioners!! This is a great way to meet parish members. If you or your business would like to donate new items or certificates only please, or sponsor a portion of the radio broadcast of the festival. Make up meeting for Confirmation 2009, May 5th at 7:00pm in the Cedar Room. Holy Angels Mission Circle: Last meeting of the season will be held Tuesday, May 6th after the 7am Mass. Mother-Daughter Retreat: for 2nd & 3rd graders with their mothers, facilitated by Jeannie Hannemann, M.A., founder of Elizabeth Ministry International. For more information call 920-766-9380. Elizabeth Ministry needs crafty hands to help make stuffed lambs for Baptism gift bags. Lamb kits located by southwest door of worship space near elevator. Please assemble the lamb, and return it to the basket. Feel free to make several! If your talents run toward knitting, we also have a baby bootie pattern available. Please call Annie Fichtner at 338-1638 if you have any questions. Also, we are in need of empty baby food jars, 2.5 oz. size, with lids, and purple crayons--check your crayon boxes for broken pieces! STUDENT MISSION STATEMENT: Our school theme this year is: “Take a Leap of Faith...Fully Rely On God (as in F.R.O.G)”. Our fourth quarter focus shifts to being Generous (the G in FROG). The following were recognized for being generous with the gifts of time, talent, and treasure: Kyrsten Sulok, Mikenna Sterr, Griffin Geib, Kayla Hanson, Joey Michels, Lindsay Uselding, Melissa Albinger, Ben Tennies, Madeline Norieka, Ryan Mas, and Kaitlyn Wolf and Aidan Schmidt. Beginning this weekend, many of the second graders will celebrate their First Communion. We’re happy to welcome them more fully to the Lord’s Table. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and the PAC has planned some activities to recognize and thank those who serve our parish in this special ministry of teaching...Sheila Rose, Kris Matthews, Debra Kincaide, Mary Ann Kletzine, Linda Bishop, Sheila Jurss, Linda Doll, Phylis Gibbon, Linda Grueneberg, Sheila Tranel, Jody Bender, Chris Thelen, Katie Schoenwetter, Kara Peck, Marge Gengler, Patty Arndt, Jennifer Komassa, Maureen Anhalt, Mary Cay Muckerheide Schmidt, JoAnn Busse, Cheryl Hofschulte, Linda Sternig, Carol Kaeppler, Yu Hai, Kathy Matuszeski, Sue Hammen, Sharon Mitchell, Angie Bissell, Diana Stadler, Jenny Wszalek, Jean Ristow, and Mike Sternig. Co-ed intramural softball for 7th and 8th graders continues Mon and Wed. Teams play at 3:00 and 3:50pm on the playground. Holy Angels is still accepting registrations for both K4 (3-day AM is almost filled) and K5 (full-day has one opening) programs. Registration materials are available in the school office.
