ELIZABETH MINISTRY MEETING

September 10, 2008

Present: Jenny Casper, Annie Fichtner, Jennifer Albiero, Rosanne Nosacek, Paula Beine

This was an action day to assemble items.

Starting in October, baptism gift bags are to be given to people having a baby baptized. We assembled 11 baptism gift bags for boys and girls. Each bag contains our greeting card, designed and made previously by Elizabeth Ministers, All Mothers’ Prayer Book, Family Man’s Creed, a pair of hand-knit baby booties, a cross or lamb, hand-made “silky” mini-blanket, home-made candle, a brochure about Elizabeth Ministry, and a baptism prayer.

If the baptism is of a child older than a baby we will need to be informed and assemble a suitable bag.

Unfortunately, we are not getting the response for which we had hoped to the stuffed lamb kits. Jenny Casper and Debbie Herbst are trying to find people who may be able to assemble them on a regular basis. We are also looking for people who would like to make angels, perhaps made from lace or crocheted. If any one knows of people who enjoy this type of craft work, please contact Annie Fichtner 338-1638 or any Elizabeth Minister.

We prepared the cards for the roses for our Rosebud Program which will also start in October.

We invite all parishioners to become involved in Elizabeth Ministry. Brochures are located in the Elizabeth Ministry corner near the elevator in the church. We ask for your prayers for our ministry and those to whom we minister. Also, if there is something in particular that you like to do or make, we can most likely incorporate it into the ministry, so please contact us.
