Minutes of Parish Council Meeting, April 15, 2010

Present: Mike Nowack, Ted Casper, Colleen Mas, Carol Bork, Mike Melaney, Frank Stangl, Heidi Fellenz, Mary Young, Paula Beine, Dave Beine, Fr. Nate, Fr. Jerry Absent: Don Felix 

Discussion of the parish website: invited guests – Matt Sternig, a graphic artist, & Mark Landvatter, co-owner of Network Pro, an internet engineer Jack Trzebiatowski has been the parish web master; he no longer belongs to the parish.

Matt Sternig
·         present platform is from 2000, it is out of date
·         recommend that we replace it with WordPress
·         survey those who use the site and for what

Mark Landvatter
·         we currently use 3 internet pipes, should use just 1 for security
·         connect parish & school, 1 commercial host, uniform e-mail service
·         estimated need: a server, faster bandwidth, hardware & donated service
·         cost: $4-5k for infrastructure, $1k for fiber to connect school & church
·         increase of $150/month to $225

An ad hoc committee to investigate was formed composed of Ted Casper, Mark Landvatter, Matt Sternig, and Fr. Nate. 

Election Proceduces – the word “councilors” is changed to “council members”, and a list of nominees will be given to Fr. Jerry to be checked. 

Reports:
·         finance will have list of maintenance projects to be approve at May meeting
·         human concerns is meeting with Hebron House, shelter program across the street from the parish, on Tuesday, April 20
·         ad hoc hiring committee will have document next month
·         school committee: 1) K-3 committee approved the YMCA proposal for after school care; 2) exit surveys need to be done, Fr. Jerry will get a volunteer;  3) we will have a report on enrollment at the next meeting
