PARISH NEWS

Thank you to all who made contributions to OPERATION RICE BOWL.  The total amount raised was $1,957.71.  (The coins totaled $737.81: 5,401 pennies, 1,221 nickels, 1,980 dimes and 1,679 quarters, 2 fifty cent pieces and 4 one dollar pieces.)  We will send $1,468.71 to the Catholic Relief Services and $489.00 will stay in out community to help feed those in need.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.  The Human Concerns Committee. 

The work that was to have begun last week on the floor of the church vestibule has been postponed to Wednesday, April 23rd.  Please watch for signs to alternate entrances while the work is being done. 

Mother’s Day Geranium Sale is fast approaching!!!  The Human Concern’s Committee will be selling geraniums the weekend of May 10th & 11th after all of the Masses.  Plus, we will sell by pre-order, hanging baskets for $22 each. 
Available are Ivy Geraniums- Red, Pink or Lavender;

Fuchsias
– Red/White, Red/Purple, Purple/White or Solid Red.

NOTE: The 9th & 10th grade retreat that was scheduled for April 26th has been cancelled and will be replaced by a fall retreat.  Watch for information over the summer months. 

2008 Festival of Angels is coming June 6, 7 & 8!!! Don’t forget to turn in your tickets by May 4th to be eligible for the $50 Early Bird Prize!

Festival tickets are available for pick-up at the 8th Ave. entrance.  If you know of someone that cannot pick up their tickets, please help us out by taking them with you.  It will save us from having to hand deliver tickets.
If you did not find the activity you wish to volunteer for during the Festival Weekend – or just did not take the time to sign up, PLEASE fill out the volunteer form found with your tickets and return it to the box in the church vestibule or go to the parish website at  www.hawb.org.  You are the reason that your Festival of Angels remains a success. 

            Doing your spring cleaning?  If so, please remember the Parcel Post Booth.  All new items, infant on up are accepted.  Also crafts, quilts & afghans are welcome!  Please call Terese with any questions, 334-7187.  Please drop off items at the rectory office.
            We are also looking for items for the Raffle drawing and or Silent Auction.
If you or your business would like to donate new items or certificates only please, or sponsor a portion of the radio broadcast of the festival. Call Jim at 338-1148.

WHAT’S GOING ON??

H.I. S. Players will perform Les Miserables April 20th at 3pm at Schauer Center 147 N. Rural St. Hartford. Tickets $9.50 for adults; $7.50 for students; $4.50 - 12 and under.  

Holy Angels Mission Circle: Tuesday after 7am Mass in church hall.  New members welcome. Call Shirley Stoffel at 334-5147. 

Holy Angels Women’s Group meets April 24th in the Cedar Room at 7pm.

Separated/Divorced/Widowed-Wash. Cty: April 25th 7:30pm, Holy Angels Cedar Rm. Pot Luck at 6:30pm; Social/ Fun night to follow.  Bring cards, games and snacks.

St. Peter Catholic Church seeking Director of Youth Ministry for religious education of grades 6-12, and to oversee young adult program.  Duties include: provide plan and budget for catechesis for grades 6-12, coordinate prep for Confirmation; work with parishes in tri-parish cluster; requires flexible schedule averaging 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend work required. Must be practicing Catholic with bachelor's degree from accredited college or university.

Youth and Contemporary Music Minister

Holy Angels School

Our school theme this year is: “Take a Leap of Faith...Fully Rely On God (as in F.R.O.G)”.  Our 4th quarter focus shifts to being Generous (the G in FROG).  The following were recognized for being generous with the gifts of time, talent, and treasure: Brooke Voelker, Lance Grosskoph, McKenzie Zywicki, Garrett Witte, Eli Tranel, Ashlin LaFond, Kennedy Lawson, Mary Kate Schmidt, Natalie Scherbarth, Abby Bissell, Alexis Wolf, Trevor Knop, & Mitchell Peters. 

On Monday, the first graders will be visiting M&I Bank to learn about money matters. 

Tuesday Is Earth Day.  Holy Angels School will participate in the Adopt-A-Trail program for the Eisenbahn Trail.  Students will serve the community by helping to maintain the trail from Washington St. to Decorah St. (near Holy Angels Cemetery).  Students will also help in controlling invasive species along the trail. 

Wednesday, the sixth graders will travel to the Milwaukee Public Museum’s “Temples, Tells and Tombs” exhibit. 

Students will participate in a simulated Tornado Warning on Thursday as part of Tornado Awareness Week. 

The fourth and fifth graders will be attending the MSO concert on Thursday at WBHS. 

Friday is PJ Day, sponsored by the HA Student Council. 

Holy Angels is still accepting registrations for both the K4 (3-day AM is almost filled) and K5 (full-day is almost filled) programs.  Registration materials available in the school office.  Call the office at 338-1148. 

Holy Angels School offer for students transferring to grades 1-6.  The Instructional Fee will be waived for the first year for new families coming to Holy Angels.  Call the school office for details and a private tour. 

Support Holy Angels through the SCRIP program.  Purchase gift cards through the HA SCRIP Program and support our parish and school.  Order forms can be found on the school website (follow the school LINKS).
